UV photometry is highly accurate, expensive and the main applications are for scientific measurement and calibration. There are costly maintenance programmes associated with UV that involve calibration and maintenance of the UV lamps. This technology is reserved for customers that require scientific accuracy and have the resources to purchase a high-priced product as it provides the best available scientific accuracy.
Electrochemical sensors are commonly used in many applications however are best suited to measuring high ozone levels above 2 ppm. Calibration is required and they can be prone to high levels of cross sensitivity.
Heated Metal Oxide (HMOS) sensors are inexpensive and have a reputation for poor sensor drift, poor accuracy, poor T90 response and poor reliability. Traditional HMOS monitors are also affected by cross sensitivities and require calibration.
Aeroqual uses Gas Sensitive Semi Conductor technology where some of the principles of HMOS technology are used. Aeroqual however has developed exclusive techniques to dramatically improve accuracy, T90 response, cross sensitivities and sensor drift. Aeroqual also offers the above sensor heads specially calibrated for "Controlled Atmosphere" applications, typically for low oxygen environments. In addition customised calibration to customer requirements is available on request.
Monitoring Products
Ozone gas sensor heads are compatible with all Aeroqual monitoring products.
The sensor heads conduct "Active Air Sampling" of ambient air and utilize the proprietary Aeroqual "Gas Sensitive Semiconductor" (GSS) technology.
All Aeroqual products have removable sensor heads that eliminate the need for field calibration and facilitate sensor head replacement as required.
